Assam on Monday registered its highest single-day COVID-19 deaths with 92 new fatalities
The state also detected 6,394 new cases, which is also the highest on a single day.
The fresh cases have been detected out of 91,481 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Of the new cases, 1,100 were detected in Guwahati alone.
“Summary of 17/5/2021 Today’s Total 6394 Overall Positivity Percentage (6394 cases out of 91481 test done = 6.99%) Kamrup (M) 1100 Death 92 Recovery Rate 85.73%,” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.
The overall positivity rate is recorded at 6.99 per cent while the rate of recovery stands at 85.73 per cent.
Meanwhile, all inter-district transport services and movement of people has been suspended within the state for 15 days from May 21.
