Assam to launch vaccination for 18-44 age group from May 5

The COVID-19 vaccination drive for the age group of 18 to 44 years will be symbolically launched in Assam from Wednesday, May 5.

The inoculation drive will be in full swing from May 7, said Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

“While we shall launch this #CovidVaccination symbolically tomorrow, it shall be in full swing from May 7,” Sarma said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, the state has received a fresh batch of 1.5 lakh doses of Covaxin from Bharat Biotech.

Sarma says the fresh batch of vaccines will give boost to the vaccination drive in the state.
