As many as eleven out of 138 students of DCB Girls’ College in Eastern Assam’s Jorhat have tested positive for COVID-19.
The development comes amid India facing a second wave of COVID-19, registering over one lakh cases on Tuesday.
Out of the 11 students, three were supposed to appear for semester exams and have now been kept in isolation in the hostel. The students will appear for the exams from the hostel premises itself.
The other eight students are in home isolation for now.
It may be mentioned that the district administration has also imposed Section 144 in view of the surge in Coronavirus cases.
