Five police personnel have been suspended in connection with the firing incident at the Dhonehori LP School in Cachar district’s Sonai.

Meanwhile, the police today interrogated Sonai BJP candidate and former assembly deputy speaker Aminul Haque Laskar in connection with the case.

Locals had alleged that PSOs of Laskar opened fire on the voting day inside the polling station leaving 3 persons critically injured.

Laskar was interrogated for several hours at the Silchar (sadar) police station. However, he rubbished all allegations levelled against him.
