Ri Bhoi District Police of Byrnihat Outpost on Monday arrested one Manipuri youth and also seized heroin worth more than 3 crore 50 lakh rupees from his possession.

Police managed to nab the youth along with the contraband from Pahammawlein village near NHAI Toll gate plaza in Ri Bhoi District during the wee hours around 2 o’clock on Monday morning.

As per reports, the arrested youth, identified as 23-year-old Jamgoulen Hoakip, was on his way to Shillong from Guwahati when he was stopped by locals at Ri Bhoi district for trying to walk through the toll gate plaza.

Police officials soon reached the spot and recovered a huge consignment of contraband from his possession which has been estimated to be worth over Rs. 3 crores in the international market.
