Festive atmosphere witnessed in Guwahati as NEDA Convener and top BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma is conducting a mega road show enroute to filing his nomination papers from Jalukbari constituency on Friday, for the upcoming Assam assembly elections.
Sarma, accompanied by his wife and son paraded through the streets in an open SUV car amid tight security.
A sea of supporters and admirers thronged the streets of Guwahati, chanting slogans, carrying party flag and banners, showering flower petals on Himanta Biswa Sarma and moving along the route of the massive roadshow, which began from Sonaram field at Bharalumukh.
Top leaders of all the alliance partners of the BJP from the region are also expected to be present on the occasion.
