The National People’s Party (NPP) on Saturday said that it is confident of a good show at the upcoming GHADC polls.
Speaking to mediapersons, Chief Minister and NPP President Conrad Sangma exuded confidence and said that the NPP has already announced all the candidatures for the upcoming polls and preparations are going on in full swing.
On being asked about several leaders quitting the party in the run-up to the Council elections, Sangma said that it is a normal and natural situation that all political parties face.
On inclusion of Non-tribals in the upcoming GHADC elections Sangma said that it was being practiced for years although it could have been and should have been addressed at that beginning.
It may be mentioned that the inclusion of non tribals in the GHADC polls has reportedly drawn the ire of a certain section of people in Garo hills.
