The Indian Railways is making a paradigm shift in the travel experience for the passengers with the introduction of modern Tejas sleeper type train. Agartala Rajdhani Express with Tejas sleeper coaches rolled out on February 15.

The newly-launched Tejas special train connecting Agartala to Anand Vihar of North Delhi was flagged off by West Tripura MP Pratima Bhowmik in Agartala.

To enhance the comfort for passengers, Tejas sleeper coaches have been modified with smart features including passenger announcement, digital destination board, CCTV with day-night vision capability, facial recognition, automatic plug door, stainless steel under-frame, bio-vacuum toilet system among other features.

The feature of new Tejas-style Rajdhani express also include improved seats and berths, reading light for each berth, air quality measurement for AC system, among others. The Tejas Special Train has a total of 18 coaches.

The Indian Railways is trying to offer a unique train travel experience with enhanced comfort to its lakhs of passengers by incorporating such sleeper-type Tejas coaches in long-distance trains.
