In a major drug seizure, police on Wednesday seized a huge quantity of drugs from Jumia Colony in Ratanpur under Khowai district in Tripura.
Acting on a tip-off, Khowai police raided the Jumia Colony and recovered 218 kilograms of dried Marijuana concealed in 19 sacks from a forest yesterday.
The market value of the seized contraband item is estimated at around Rs 11 lakh.
Meanwhile, police have stated that the seizure of 19 sacks of Marijuana in Khowai proved that huge quantities of cannabis are being cultivated in remote areas of the district.
It needs to be mentioned here that with just a month passed this year, three narcotics cases have been registered at the Khowai police station. In all the cases, police had seized huge quantities of drugs.
