Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has reiterated that the state government is vigorously pursuing the Inner Line Permit (ILP) issue with the Centre. The chief minister said this while reacting to Governor Satya Pal Malik’s statement on the issue.

Sangma, however, said that the Governor’s opinion is crucial for guiding the state while pursuing both the Meghalaya Resident Safety and Security Amendment Bill and the ILP issue with the central government.

The Chief Minister added the state government is aggressively pursuing with the Centre as both issues are complicated and require the consent of the Central government.
