Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday said that the passing of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) resolution by the State government in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly is a reflection of their commitment to the issue.

The Chief Minister also hit out at the past governments for allegedly being indifferent in addressing the issue.

Sangma further stated that the state government has apprised the Union Home Minister Amit Shah about pressure groups expressing hope to meet him during his visit to Shillong on January 23.

The Meghalaya chief minister reiterated that the state government is aggressively pursuing the matter with the Centre to get the ILP passed in the state as soon as possible.
