Assam Police on Wednesday morning recovered illegal arms and ammunition from Chirang district under the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The police team recovered AK Series Rifle with two magazines and 26 rounds live ammunition of 7.62 mm from north of Kumarsali village under Bijni Police Station.
“The effort to clean up Assam of unlawful weapons continues. @chirangpolice on 06.01.2021 recovered from north of Kumarsali village under Bijni PS – One A.K.Series Rifle with Two no.s of Magazine and 26 rounds live ammunition of 7.62 mm” Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for law and order GP Singh said in a tweet.
Assam Police has been carrying out continuous operations in the BTR to clean up unlawful weapons and illegal activities in the area.
