Dhing express and star sprinter Hima Das has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2021.

As per sources, Hima Das has been selected to take part in 400-metres relay race in the event.

Hima holds the current Indian national record in 400 metres clocking 50.79 seconds at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

She is the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in a track event at the IAAF World U20 Championships.

While the Olympics Association is yet to make a formal announcement, the news is already out and has brought in a wave of cheer among her family members. Hima’s parents including her relatives are hopeful that their homegirl would bring in a gold medal for the country.

The Olympic Games this year will be held in Tokyo of Japan from July 23 to August 8.
