Two employees of an oil drilling company have been abducted by a group of armed men in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Monday.

According to reports, around 15 armed miscreants kidnapped PK Gogoi, a drilling superintendent, and Ram Kumar, a radio operator of Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited from the company’s drilling location in Diyun, on foot.

PK Gogoi hails from Sivasagar in Assam and Ram Kumar is from Bihar.

So far, there is no confirmation on which group or militant outfit is behind the incident.

Changlang district shares its borders with four districts of Arunachal Pradesh, Tinsukia district of Assam as well as with Myanmar. The area witnesses presence of militants more frequently.

Police and security personnel have been carrying out extensive search operations to ascertain the whereabouts of the oil employees.
