UPP(L) president Pramod Boro has exuded confidence that the party will clinch power in the Bodo heartland. Boro came out all guns blazing against BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary and blamed him for misrule and corruption including siphoning of welfare funds.

Meanwhile, BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary also addressed party rallies in different parts of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The former BTC chief exuded confidence of sweeping the council elections.

He added that the BJP’s high profile campaign by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal would have no impact on the prospects of his party. Mohilary further alleged that the BJP has a secret understanding with the UPP(L).

Elections to the 40-member Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) will take place in two phases on December 7 and 10.
