Two ULFA-Independent cadres have been arrested by police from the Lazu area close to the Indo-Myanmar border in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The duo on Friday evening was reportedly moving in a suspicious manner in an interior village, following which they were picked up by the police for questioning and were later arrested after being confirmed to be active ULFA-I cadres.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 25-year-old Binod Moran alias Nelachand Asom hailing and 32-year-old Astar Hussain alias Imtiaz Asom hailing from Assam’s Tinsukia and Golaghat district respectively.

Meanwhile, an interrogation by police with the arrested cadres are on.
