Female voters in Mizoram outnumbered their male counterparts by 20,635 votes, where the names of over 7.97 lakh people appeared in the draft voters list published in all the eleven districts.
According to the draft roll published by the State election department on Monday, there are altogether 7, 97,795 voters comprising of 3, 88,580 males and 4, 09,215 females.
Beides, there are 4,829 service voters, including 63 females.
The draft electoral rolls were prepared for special summary revision of voters’ lists to include people attaining 18 years of age on January 1, 2021.
Aizawl district with 12 assembly constituencies has the highest number of voters at 2, 64,294 followed by Lunglei district at 93,211.
Hnahthial district, which was created in 2019, has the least electorates at 15,119 with only one assembly constituency.
The last date for filing claim and objection to the list is December 15.
According to election officials, the final voter list of special summary revision will be published on January 20 next year.
There are 40 assembly constituencies in Mizoram and 12,42 polling stations, including 2 newly created polling stations in Serchhip districts.
