Baijayant Panda appointed Assam BJP in-charge

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed the party’s national vice-president Baijayant Panda as in-charge of Assam. Panda, a former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader, joined the BJP in March

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed the party’s national vice-president Baijayant Panda as in-charge of Assam.

Panda, a former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader, joined the BJP in March 2019. Additionally, he was a member of parliament in the Rajya Sabha for two terms from 2000 to 2009.

Panda is considered an important leader of the party who will coordinate with cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

Meanwhile, Finance and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, ” Compliments to Sri @PandaJay  on being appointed as Prabhari (Incharge) of #Assam and Shri Pawan Sharma as Seh Prabahri (Co-Incharge). We look forward to working closely with you to continue to strengthen @BJP4Assam as per vision of PM Shri @narendramodi.“
