In a major blow to the Bodo People’s Front in BTR ahead of the Council polls, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary resigned from the BPF on Wednesday. Daimary tendered his resignation to BPF Chief Hagrama Mohilary.

In his resignation letter, Daimary claimed that he is not being able to serve the State anymore while being in the party.

He further said that he will resign as the Rajya Sabha MP after completing the responsibilities he undertook as an MP.

Daimary is likely to join the BJP soon and it is being speculated that he will be fielded by the BJP in the BTC polls as its CEM candidate.

Elections to the Bodo Territorial Council is likely to take place within the first part of December.
