Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi was admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU) OF Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Sunday night.

Tarun Gogoi was earlier admitted at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital(GMCH) for post-COVID-19 complications in the month of October and was discharged on 25 October.

“Yesterday we got information at around 10:30 PM that Gogoi is restless. Even if he was under observation at his home, we shifted him to GMCH ICU immediately. After examination doctors reported carbon dioxide retention,” said a doctor.

The doctor added,”He is concious and is listening to our commands. Right now he is in ICU in Noninvasive ventilation (NIV).”
