Meghalaya: 80-year-old man buried alive for practising witchcraft

In a shocker from Meghalaya, an 80-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his three nephews on suspicion of practising witchcraft. The incident happened in the state’s West Khasi Hills district.

In a shocker from Meghalaya, an 80-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his three nephews on suspicion of practising witchcraft. The incident happened in the state’s West Khasi Hills district.

The deceased has been identified as Boris Marngar. A total of 8 persons have been arrested so far by the police in connection with the case.

Those arrested have been identified as Walphanus Marngar, Exstarning Marngar, Beransius Marngar, Kyrshanborlang Marngar and Michalpol Marngar.

Prior to this, three others who are nephews of the victim were also arrested. They have been identified as Densil Marngar, Jales Marngar and Diberwell Marngar.

However, it has been learned that 18 co-accused persons are still on the run. Meanwhile, the kin of the victim said that Boris was forcibly taken by the accused persons on the evening of October 6.

The victim was reportedly taken to Nongdisong following which he was untraceable.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the victim was buried alive for allegedly practicing witchcraft.
