The indefinite Chakka Bandh called by the All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) has been withdrawn after the government agreed to their demand of allowing vehicles to ply with 100 per cent passengers. Buses, trekkers and other vehicles to run from Friday.

The passenger vehicles have been asked not to carry passengers more than the allowed seating capacity and maintain other COVID-19 protocols like wearing of masks and making sanitizers available in the vehicles. No standing passengers will be allowed.

The AAMTA had called for an indefinite Chakka Bandh on Monday in protest against various demands, including doubling of fares as they were carrying 50 per cent passengers amid the pandemic.
