Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has tested negative for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Gogoi was admitted to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on August 25 after he tested positive for coronavirus.

However, the veteran Congress leader will be in hospital for few more days for the customary 7-day quarantine.

Gogoi was given plasma therapy after his oxygen levels had dipped. Throughout the period, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma deputed a special team of doctors to monitor the health condition of Gogoi. Sarma also took personal stock of the situation.
