Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally crosses 5,000-mark as 118 more test positive

With the detection of 118 new cases on Saturday, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland have crossed the 5,000-mark. The positive cases have been detected out of 609

With the detection of 118 new cases on Saturday, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland have crossed the 5,000-mark.

The positive cases have been detected out of 609 samples sent for testing. The overall coronavirus cases tally has reached 5,064.

Of the fresh cases, 113 were reported from Dimapur, 2 each from Kohima and Peren and 1 from Mon district.

“118 +ve cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 609 samples received. 113 in Dimapur, 2 each in Kohima and Peren & 1 in Mon. Also, State reports 31 recoveries of COVID-19 patients. 25 in Kohima, 5 in Mon & 1 in Phek,” Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom tweeted.

On the other hand, 31 more patients have recovered from the infection. The state now has 1,252 active cases, while 3,791 people have recovered from the infection so far.

Nagaland reported its highest single-day spike of 310 cases on Friday, taking the total count to 4,946.
