Meghalaya registers 75 new COVID-19 cases; active cases tally at 1,222

Meghalaya has registered 75 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, taking the total active cases to 1,222. Director of Health Services, Dr Aman War informed that among the fresh cases

Meghalaya has registered 75 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, taking the total active cases to 1,222.

Director of Health Services, Dr Aman War informed that among the fresh cases detected on Thursday, 29 are from East Khasi Hills, 27 from East Garo Hills, 15 from West Garo Hills, 2 from South West Garo Hills and 1 each from South and North Garo Hills.

Of the 1,222 active cases, East Khasi Hills alone has 847 cases, 43 from West Khasi Hills, 68 from Ri- Bhoi, 2 from West Jaintia Hills, 12 from East Jaintia Hills, 187 from West Garo Hills, 3 from South West Garo Hills, 11 from South Garo Hills, 39 from East Garo Hills and 10 from North Garo Hills.

On the other hand, 25 more people have recovered from the disease. The total recoveries stand at 899, while 9 deaths have been registered in the state.

So far, 81,012 samples have been sent for testing out of which negative 78,431 and  results of 452 are awaited. The number of entrants into the state stands at 31,425.
