Five candidates from Assam have brought laurels to the state by clearing the UPSC mains examination 2019. Those candidates from Assam are Aranyak Saikia, Sizal Agarwal, Nibedita Dutta, Tapan Deka and Kishore Sutradhar.
Aranyak Saikia has secured the 59th position. The positions of the other candidates are Sizal Agarwal – 112th rank, Nibedita Dutta – 697th rank, Tapan Deka – 766th rank, and Kishore Sutradhar – 784th rank.
Aranyak Saikia is the son of Assam’s former Director General of Police (DGP), Kuladhar Saikia. Aranyak had cleared the examination earlier also. Presently, he is serving as an IPS officer of the 2017 batch in the Karnataka cadre.
A total of 829 candidates cleared the civil services examination results of which were declared yesterday.
Out of the 5 candidates, who cleared the UPSC civil services examinations 2019 from Assam, two are from Jorhat district.
Sizal Agarwal, ranked 112nd and Nibedita Dutta, ranked 697 have brought laurels to the town. Sizal, a resident of Chamber Road in Jorhat and daughter of Mamta and Binod Agarwal, is the middle of three siblings. She is reportedly the only girl from the Marwari community to have passed UPSC civil services examination from Assam.
Nibedita Dutta, a single child of her parents Juna and Krishna Janta Dutta, hails from Bhogamukh under Teok revenue circle, and resides at Pune in Maharashtra. As her father worked in the Army Medical Corps, she cleared HSLC from a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chandigarh, and then cleared HS from Army Public School in Pune. She graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Army Institute of Technology, Pune.
Nibedita then studied Political Science under Pune University with the sole aim of appearing and clearing the UPSC examination.
