Assam on Wednesday reported 1,348 more positive cases of COVID-19, taking the state’s overall tally to 36,295. The fresh cases have been detected among the 18,941 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
With a low positivity rate of 7.11%, among the fresh cases, 348 patients are from Kamrup (M) and 127 from Kamrup (R).
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “1348 new COVID cases detected in Assam out of 18,941 tests done in last 24 hrs. The positivity rate is at a low of 7.11% Kamrup (M) – 348, Kamrup (R)- 127.”
(Total cases: 36295, Recovered: 26618, Active cases: 9582, Deaths: 92)
Meanwhile, 1,214 patients have been discharged today from different hospitals and COVID care centres in Assam. With this the total number of recovered patients in the state have reached 27,832.
While, the current recovery rate in the state is 76.77%, the number of active cases now stands at 8,368.
Earlier, four more patients succumbed to the infection, taking the toll to 92. The deceased COVID-19 patients have been identified as Bimal Paul (78) from Cachar, Hema Devi (77) from Tinsukia and Dr. S.A.W. Hussain (85) and Debari Karmakar (40) from Jorhat.
