23 more test COVID-19 positive in Tripura; tally rises to 1,264

Tripura on Tuesday reported 23 fresh COVID-19 cases. The state’s overall tally has gone up to 1,264.

Of the fresh cases, 9 were reported from Sepahijala, 5 from South Tripura, 4 from Dhalai, 2 from Khowai and 1 each from Gomati, North and West Tripura districts, they said.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted on Tuesday night, “Out of 975 samples tested for COVID-19, 23 people were found positive. All of them have travel history & 1 is a truck driver.”

Meanwhile, 25 patients have been discharged from various district Covid Care Centers.

The state now has 457 active cases, while 807 patients have recovered from the disease so far.

Tripura has been witnessing a rise in the number of coronavirus cases days after it was declared free from the disease in late April.
