Five more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram on Monday. The total number of positive cases in the state has now reached 117.
The 5 fresh cases include females aged between 21 and 23 years. All individuals are from Mamit district and are asymptomatic.
The positive patients have recently returned to the state from Delhi. They were under institutional quarantine.
A total of 682 samples were tested at the Zoram Medical College (ZMC) on Sunday, of which, five tested positive for coronavirus.
Mizoram now has 116 active cases, 59 females and 57 males, while the first patient in the state, who had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 24, recovered from the disease in early May.
Earlier on Sunday, 5 other returnees from Delhi were found positive for the virus, taking the total cases to 112. Among the positive patients, 3 were from Aizawl District and 2 belonged to Siaha District.
