Arunachal Pradesh on Friday reported its highest single-day spike after 20 more COVID-19 cases surfaced in the state, taking the overall tally to 87.

Of the fresh cases, 13 were reported from Changlang district, 6 from East Siang and one from Namsai.

All patients were returnees from other affected states and tested positive for the virus while they were in quarantine facilities. They are all asymptomatic and have been shifted to Covid Care Centre.

The number of active cases in the state now stands at 83, while 4 have been discharged after recovery.

The state’s Changlang district has witnessed the highest number of positive cases. With the detection of 13 new cases last evening, the total cases count in the district has gone up to 55.

Meanwhile, the district administration has taken all necessary measures to deal with the situation.
