In biggest single-day spike, Nagaland records 26 new COVID-19 cases

Nine more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland. A total of 26 positive cases were reported on Friday taking the state’s overall tally to 156.

Out of 318 tested samples, 26 new positive cases have been confirmed. 30 persons have recovered and the state presently have 126 active cases.

With a total of 26 positive cases, this is the biggest single-day spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state.

The positive cases were reported in two phases with 17 in the first phase and 9 in the second phase

Taking to Twitter, Minister of health & family welfare S Pangnyu Phom informed, “Another 9 new cases of COVID-19 +ve have been reported out of 251 samples tested at NHAK. 6 patients from Dimapur QC, 2 from Kohima QC & 1 from Peren QC.

On Friday morning at 6:20 AM, S Pangnyu Phom informed about the detection of 17 more positive cases.

All 17 patients are from Dimapur quarantine centre. With these new cases, the total count reached 147. No casualty has been reported in the state so far.
