6 more COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh; total count 57

Arunachal Pradesh on Monday reported 6 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the state’s overall tally to 57.

Of the 6 cases, 3 are from Changlang district, while one each was reported from East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley and Tirap districts. They have been shifted to COVID-19 Care Centres.

All the positive patients had returned from other parts of the country and they were housed in quarantine centres.

The first COVID-19 case was reported in the state on April 2, when a 31-year-old person who had returned from Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi had tested positive for the deadly virus.

He later recovered and wasdischarged from hospital on April 16.

Earlier on Sunday, two more persons tested positive for coronavirus, taking the total number of infections to 51.

Both the patients were from Changlang district and were in institutional quarantine.

As of now, Arunachal Pradesh has 56 COVID-19 active cases and one patient has been discharged from hospital after recovery.
