The Mizo National Front has nominated the party’s former youth wing president K Kanlalvena as its candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Mizoram.
The meeting of the MNF’s nomination committee chaired by party president and Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga on Thursday unanimously named party national core committee member and former youth president K Vanlalvena as the party nominee for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls.
Meanwhile, the opposition Zoram People’s Movement and Congress parties are yet to decide on sending their respective candidates for Mizoram’s lone Rajya Sabha seat.
Election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat in Mizoram has been scheduled for June 19 along with 23 seats in nine states.
