The Kamrup (Metro) district administration on Friday declared containment zones in several areas of Guwahati following the detection of COVID-19 cases.
The district administration has declared Lichubagan at Hengerabari and Indrapur hill top area as containment zones.
Earlier Central Jail, Guwahati, Bathou Nagar, Geeta Mandir at Noonmati and Krishna Nagar, Gosala at Maligaon were declared as containment zones.
With the detection of COVID-19 positive cases at Central Jail, Guwahati, the jail has also been declared as a containment zone. District admin has ordered Dispur revenue circle officer to seal the Central Jail area.
“Any unauthorized entry and exit into the notified ‘Containment Zone’ are barred till the area is declared safe as per guidelines of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GOI. Any movement of any unauthorized individual and vehicle within the notified area is also prohibited with immediate effect,” stated in an official order.
The boundary of containment zone at Bathou Nagar, Geeta Mandir in Noonmati area has been defined as:
- North: Residence of Fakuram
- South: Assam State Zoo Campus
- East: Japorigog Hill
- West: Village Road
The boundary of containment zone at Krishna Nagar, Gosala in Maligaon is:
- North: Krishna Nagar Road
- South: Mitha Amtol
- East: Adingiri Village
- West: Gosala Adingiri Road
The boundary of Lichubagan containment zone is:
- North: Smashan Road
- South: Nizarapur Road
- East: Residence of Bhupen Das and others
- West: Lakshminagar Link Road
The boundary of Indrapur hill top area containment zone:
- North: Medical College Hostel
- South: Hill area
- East: 10 APBN main road
- West: Part of Indrapur
