5 new positive COVID-19 cases in Manipur; total reaches 83

Manipur on Monday has reported 5 new positive cases of COVID-19, taking the state’s overall coronavirus tally to 83. 5 persons including 2 female has tested positive at the VRDL

Manipur on Monday has reported 5 new positive cases of COVID-19, taking the state’s overall coronavirus tally to 83.

5 persons including 2 female has tested positive at the VRDL in Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).

All positive individuals are returnees from Delhi and Chennai. They have been shifted to Covid care facilities at RIMS and JNIMS and their conditions are stable.

With this, the total number of active cases has risen to 72 and 11 recovered.

Earlier, 7 migrant workers who recently returned to Manipur had tested COVID- 19 positive in the state.

The state, which was declared COVID 19-free on April 19, recorded a surge in the number of positive cases with returnees from other parts of the country.
