Addressing a press meet, Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared May 1 to May 31 as summer vacation in schools across the state. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, school authorities are asked to adjust the summer vacations.
Sarma also stated that SEBA and the AHSEC will declare the results for Class 10 and HS examinations on mid-June.
Further, to save the academic year of the students, the state government plans on extending the academic year till March 31 next year. However, the government has sought suggestions on this regard from academicians.
Sarma further added, “This time the students won’t receive paper mark sheet as we don’t want the student to come to school. Everyone will receive digital mark sheets. These mark sheets can be used for admission purpose, too”. The paper mark sheet will be distributed later on.
The Education Minister also mentioned that students can now download the Diksha App for online courses.
“We are trying to increase online classes for students. They can download Diksha App on mobile and can attend the online classes. Along with the mobile app students can also check Biswa Vidya YouTube channel. Yesterday, almost 40,000 students participated in the YouTube session,” said Sarma.
