A big sigh of relief for Mizoram as the state has been declared a Coronavirus free state. This was declared by Mizoram health minister R Lalthangliana.

The announcement came after the lone COVID patient in Mizoram recovered from the deadly virus. The patient, a pastor, tested negative for COVID-19 in 4 consecutive tests.

“We have one positive patient admitted at Zoram Medical College. Yesterday, we received a confirmation for second time. We sent 4 sample for testing, on 28 April, 29 April, 30 April and 1 May, and fortunately, all four tests are negative. As of now Mizoram is free from coronavirus,” said Mizoram health minister Dr R Lalthangliana.

Lalthangliana added, “We constituted task force in all the villages and the task force includes medical staff, NGO members and eminent leaders of various organizations. The have been working very efficiently. This is our source of strength in fighting COVID-19.”
