Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has mooted the idea for the extension of lockdown beyond May 3.

The Chief Minister’s suggestion came during the video conference of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Chief Ministers over the COVID-19 situation in the country.

Sangma took to social media to state that he has proposed for the extension of lockdown beyond May 3 with relaxations on activities in green zones or non-Covid affected areas.

The Meghalaya CM mentioned that he had made the proposal to PM Modi and Home Minsiter Amit Shah during the video conference with Chief Ministers.

As India entered the final week of nationwide lockdown, PM Narendra Modi held a video conference with the chief ministers of all states to discuss the road ahead.
