Two more COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from the state taking the total number of active cases to 10.

The development was confirmed by Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on his official Twitter handle.

“Two more positive cases detected taking the total to 10 active cases in the State. Both cases are from the house of the first patient one is family and other a helper in the house,” tweeted CM Conrad Sangma.

Among the two fresh cases, one is a family member of the first COVID-19 patient while another is a helper.

Meanwhile, the total number of cases in the state now stands at 11, which includes the case of the Late Bethany hospital doctor who succumbed to the virus earlier this week.

It may be mentioned that Meghalaya reported its first COVID-19 case on Monday when a senior doctor from Bethany hospital Shillong tested positive.

Subsequently 10 more people, all family members and helpers of the first patient, tested positive.
