The Assam health department has imported 50,000 PPE kits from Guangzhou, China.

The special Blue Dart Boeing 752 cargo plane from Guangzhou carrying first consignment of 50,000 PPE kits landed Guwahati Airport on Wednesday evening.

The special cargo flight brought tonnes of PPE kits, ventilators and other essential items meant to assist in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The consignment of medical equipment was received by Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma with Minister of State for Health Pijush Hazarika, after it arrived in the city following a special initiative taken by the Assam government in this regard.

The consignment includes PPE kits, ventilators and other necessary medical equipment.

Notably, this consignment of 50 thousand PPEs is an addition to the 1 lakh PPEs that Assam already had in stock.
