In the biggest spike since the outbreak of COVID-19 in India, as many as 386 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. With this the total number of positive cases in the country has risen to 1,637.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the spike in the number of cases is due to the religious event at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.

18 hundred people related to the Tablighi Jamaat have been sent to 9 hospitals and quarantine centres.

Moreover, with 3 more deaths reported in the last 24 hours the death toll in the country due to the COVID-19 outbreak has climbed to 38.

Meanwhile, over 47,000 tests have been carried out so far.

The Health Ministry has informed that over 21,000 relief camps have been set up across the County. And close to 7 lakh people have been provided with Government shelter.
