India has recorded a massive spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in a single day. As many as 227 positive cases has been reported in the last 24 hours.

This is the highest single-day surge that the Country has witnessed since the outbreak of the deadly disease.

With this spike, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country has risen to 1,251 of which 1,117 are active cases.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the country due to COVID-19 now stands at 32.

Till date over 42 thousand samples have been tested for COVID-19, of which over 4 thousand samples were tested yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Defense Research and Development Organisation is working with local manufacturers to increase supply of N95 masks.

On the other hand the Ministry of External affairs has identified suppliers from South Korea, Turkey and Vietnam to increase the availibility of logistics items in the Country.
