The first positive case of the deadly novel coronavirus case has been reported from Jorhat in Assam.

A 4-year-old girl has been tested positive at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH).

The minor girl arrived in Assam on March 19 from Bihar, the child’s family has also been admitted to the JMCH.

Meanwhile, another blood sample of the child has been dispatched to the Regional Health Research Centre in Dibrugarh.

As many as 98 new cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours taking the total number of positive cases close to 300-mark.
