Assam: Tezpur, Gauhati University classes go online amid coronavirus pandemic

After the closure of all the educational institutes of Assam because of Coronavirus concerns, Tezpur University and Gauhati University have been conducting online classes for their students.

The faculty members of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Tezpur University have been creating video lectures for the students of the department as the physical classrooms are suspended as a preventive measure to the spread of Coronavirus.

The students of the central university have already returned to their homes as they were asked to vacate their hostels. It has been expected that the move will help the students in continuing their studies despite the closure of physical classes.

On the other hand, the department of Physics and the Communication and Journalism department at Gauhati University have also started online classes.

Head of the department of Communication and Journalism, Ankuran Dutta has been conducting e-classes on a regular basis via Skype since March 18.

The Physics department of GU has been conducting the online classes under the initiative of HoD Dr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
