All 57 samples from Assam test negative for COVID-19: Himanta Biswa Sarma

The Assam government has taken all the necessary steps to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. So far, all the total 57 samples from Assam have been tested negative for Coronavirus, informed Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati today, Dr. Sarma said, “ We have four Coronavirus testing centres in Assam. Besides Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Jorhat Medical College and Hospital and Regional Medical Research Centre, Dibrugarh, one more centre has been approved in Silchar.”

Minister Sarma also stated that 16508 passengers had been screened at different airports of Assam. Whereas 62,870 preliminary medical tests have been done, 1003 persons are under home quarantine. On the other hand, 41 persons have been kept in the isolation units in different medical colleges and hospitals of Assam.
