The Centre has declared hand sanitizers and face masks as essential commodities till 30th June in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
The central government has also invoked the Disaster Management Act, ensuring price regulation and availability of surgical and protective masks, hand sanitizer and
gloves.
The Centre further stated that both masks and hand sanitizers have been brought under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
Masks and hand sanitizers are not easily available in the market with shortage in supply and high pricing amid COVID-19 fears.
Meanwhile, all movie theaters, gyms, swimming pools and public gardens are closed till 30th March, as preventive measures.
Health authorities in Assam’s Kaziranga are keeping a close watch to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
Foreign nationals who arrived at the Kaziranga National Park are being screened at a special health facility.
Health officials are also carrying out massive cleanliness drives at the Guwahati railway station in view of the COVID-19 outbreak.
