With growing concerns over coronavirus in the country, the finals of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2019-20, scheduled to be played on Saturday between Chennaiyin FC and ATK at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, will be held behind closed doors in public interest and for the safety and health of the fans.
In a statement, the Founder and Chairperson of Football Sports Development Limited, Nita Ambani said, the league has received immense love and support from fans throughout the season and witnessing passionate fans cheering their teams is truly an overwhelming sight, but in public interest and for the safety and health of the fans, we have decided to host the finals behind closed doors.
Both Chennaiyin FC and ATK have won the ISL title two times each this is the third time both clubs have made into an ISL final, with the two clubs jointly holding the record for most championships, a tie-breaker awaits in Goa tomorrow.
