Meghalaya: 25-year-old brutally lynched, 8 others severely injured

In yet another incident of horrific mob lynching case, a 25-year-old was brutally thrashed to death by an irate mob at Syntung under Mawkyrew constituency in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills.

In yet another incident of horrific mob lynching case, a 25-year-old was brutally thrashed to death by an irate mob at Syntung under Mawkyrew constituency in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills.

The deceased has been identified as MacMillan Kharshandi who is a resident of Madanryting in Shillong. 8 others were severely injured in the attack.

According to reports, all the nine victims had gone to Syntung for a picnic. Things took an ugly turn when miscreants blocked the road and without confirming anything attacked all the 9 individuals. 6 of them managed to flee from the spot and informed the police.

However, the 25-year old succumbed to injuries at the spot while 2 others were left grievously injured.

A case has been registered and a police probe is on into the matter. No arrests have been made so far.

Meanwhile, State Home Minister Lakmen Rymbui has condemned the incident. He said that stern action would be taken against those responsible.
