The High Power Committee formed for giving recommendations for implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord has submitted its final report to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in presence of the entire Assam cabinet on Tuesday.
The committee headed by former Gauhati High Court judge Biplab Kumar Sarma handed over the report to chief minister Sonowal in presence of finance minster Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and other members of the state cabinet.
CM Sarbanada Sonowal received the report on behalf of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The report will be sent to the Union Home ministry at the earliest and if need arises, the committee members may be called to Delhi for further consultation.
