Former All Bodo Students’ Union president Pramod Boro has joined United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) today.

Boro joined the party at its two-day convention which is underway at Bijni under Chirang district.

Earlier today, UPPL chief UG Brahma confirmed the induction of the former student leader to his party.

44-year old Pramod Boro, a resident of Souraguri Tamulpur in Baksa district, led ABSU for over 10 years, the highpoint of which was the key role played by the organisation in the signing of the Bodo Peace Accord on January 27 for lasting peace in the Boro dominated areas.

Boro’s entry into politics is expected to give a new dimension to upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election.
